PRESS RELEASE
We are delighted to announce that the 31

Scottish Association of Family History
Societies (SAFHS) Conference, postponed from last year, will now ‘go digital’ on 17
th.
April 2021.
The Conference will be streamed live on Zoom and Facebook. It is free and open to
everyone.
Six presentations are planned during the Conference covering a range of topics from
Asylums Records to Marital Disharmonies, plus a ‘live’ Ask the Experts’ session.

Going ‘digital’ offers the opportunity to take the Conference to a wide audience and
SAFHS is indebted to our friends at Scottish Indexes
(https://www.scottishindexes.com) for their support and technical knowledge in
making this possible.
The SAFHS Annual Conference is the opportunity for genealogists and family history
enthusiasts to get together. Going digital, while reducing the extent of the physical
interaction, will however provide a much needed opportunity for everyone to begin to
re-surface following what has been a difficult year for many.
A number of Family History Societies have found it a challenge to continue operating
during the COVID pandemic and recognising it has been ‘A Sair Fecht’, so the 31
st
Annual
SAFHS Conference aims to begin the process of breathing life back into genealogy.
